I know what you mean, but Mankey doesn’t really look like a monkey. I could’ve made it look more like a conventional monkey, but since when has conventionality ever been Tim Burton’s priority?
I try to stay close to the original Pokemon designs, but the translation process can get twisty-turny and wibbly-wobbly. Sometimes, a bit of convention is lost, and I think that’s something quite characteristically very Tim Burton.Of course, each re-design detail decision inevitably goes through my judgement which often is influenced by personal biases. So if you do disagree with my choices, than I deeply apologize.

I drew a bit of inspiration from a print Cel gave me of goldfishes that she drew. Pretty cool stuff.
Y’all should follow Celdee for awesome art. She’s also got a solo exhibit coming up this August that you guys should go to if you can. :)

This is my piece for ReDiscovery. It’s an art show inspired by Daft Punk over at Gauntlet Gallery in San Francisco. It’s a bit of a celebration for Random Access Memories. Opening reception is on May 18th, which I think is today. If you live near by, do drop by.
I’m pretty excited about the show actually. Some really amazing artists are going to be a part of it like Phil Noto, Andre De Freitas, and John Larriva. Great stuff! Should be an amazing show.
This is the first time I’m going to be a part of a show with a really amazing collection of artists, so I’m really stoked.
BTW, this piece was inspired by Get Lucky. Aw yiss…

Hi Tumblr. It’s 4 AM where I am. Having trouble sleeping so I doodled for a bit. I post doodles on Twitter. It’s private though. Mostly because I like to whine a lot about things. But occasionally I post doodles.
Anyway, I drew a vaguely Asian girl, which almost turned into a Velma. And then I turned her into a Velma anyway.
Also, my actual computer is in the shop. It was overheating pretty badly. I’ve been using my brother’s iMac for a while. But Imma need a decent laptop for my internship, so I had to have it fixed up. I’m mostly using this computer for mostly work. Work. So much work…I should sleep.
Blegh.
Also, my heart goes out to the people of Boston. I just found out about the news on Twitter. Stay safe everyone.
